DECISION
The Grievor, SteYen Thomas, is a Correctional Officer 2
working in the Maplehurst Complex of the employer. He has
grieved that~ "Under Article 7.02 of the Collective
Agreement %hmt I was scheduled to work and did more hours
than other Correctional Officers in the same classification
a position without any recompense or awards". He seeks
recompense either at the overtime rate with interest, or
with an alternate arrangement involving compensatory time
off.
After opening statements and before the reception of
evidence at the'hearing, the parties were successful in
negotiating a settlement of the grievance, which they
incorporated into a Memorandum of S&ttlement. They have
3ointly requested that the terms of the settlement be
incorporated into an order of this board.
The settlement, dated at Toronto, the 8th day of July,
1988, and duly signed by the parties, has the following terms:
"The Parties hereby agree to the following as a full
and final settlement of this matter:
1. The settlement is on a without prejudice and
precedent b~sis.
2o The Grievor and the Union agree to withdraw the
above noted~grievance.
3. The Grievor will have the opportunity to meet on a
one on one basis with Superintendan~ G. Commerford within 30
days to discuss schedulinG procedures and policies."

We congratulate the parties on their successful efforts
in achieving a settlement of t~egrievance. We incorporate
the above-noted settlement into aur deciaio= herein, and
declare that it is the order of~~ to conclude this
ma~er.
