Tarasuk EMPLOYER Counsel Smith, Lyons, Torrance, Stevenson & Mayer Barristers & Solicitors HEARING: August 10, 1990 November 1, 2 1990 AWARD The issue before the Board was a grievance by Davis and Clark stating that they had been improperly classified and requesting re-classification and back wages if any. The parties agreed that the matter should be resolved by the Board issuing an order. This order to contain standards, qualifications, and wages that were agreed to by the parties, and are as follows: CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE Class Definition: Employees in positions allocated to this class perform~ specialized complex clerical or subprofessional work and provide an information service by contact with individual clients in a variety of ways, and, public speaking and workshops, all of which form a significant part of the administration of the organization. Decision making requires the analysis of complex problems in a specialized field. Considerable judgment in the explanation and application of a wide variety of regulations, statutes, policies, agreements and practices is necessary to resolve these problems. The work is reviewed through standardized reporting procedures principally to assess the contribution made to department administration. Qualifications: 1. Grade 12 education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Significant, responsible clerical and related communication and organizational experience or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education.
