JOSEPH'S CONTINUING CARE CENTRE Employer ONTARIO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES UNION, LOCAL 469 Union CONSENT AWARD The parties have agreed to resolve Grievances #2015-0469-0002 and 2015-0469- 0001 as follows: This Award pertains to three Collective Agreements: - The Nurses' Collective Agreement, which applies to Full -Time and Part -Time employees; - The Service (Full -Time) Collective Agreement, and; - The Service (Part -Time) Collective Agreement. For the purposes of the Nurses' Collective Agreement, four consecutive days off for Christmas is defined as December 24-25 or December 25-26 plus two contiguous days off. For the purposes of News Years, four consecutive days off is defined as December 31 and January 1 plus two contiguous days off. None of the three Collective Agreements provide a guarantee of work on either Christmas or New Years. The Nurses' Collective Agreement provides for the scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years on an alternating basis for full-time nursing employees only. The Service (Full -Time) Collective Agreement provides for the scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years on an alternating basis for full-time service employees. The Service (Part -Time) Collective Agreement provides for the scheduling of time off at Christmas or New Years on an alternating basis for part-time service employees. Notwithstanding the regular scheduling of employees, the scheduling of employees at Christmas and/or New Years has to be done on an alternating basis in accordance with the applicable provision of each Collective Agreement. An employee who wishes to work both holidays will make a request of the Employer and if the request can be accommodated by the Employer, the consent of the Union is required.
