From the revIew of the Corporate Employment TransItIon ActIvItIes lIst provIded by the
Employer, It IS apparent that there are a number of pOSItIons for wruch the Gnevor may be
qualIfied WIth rmmmum traInIng. The Board IS of the VIew that there has been a lack of mutual
effort by the partIes to get the Gnevor back to work. Accordingly, the Board orders that the
partIes shall meet WItrun 14 days to come up a short list of posItions for wruch the Grievor would
be qualified With rmmmal traImng, all other cntena preViously stIpulated to remaIn the same. At
that meetIng, the Employer shall have two optIons. eIther to adVise the Gnevor of a traimng
course It will proVide to her to qualify her to meet the reqUIred skills of one of the pOSItIOns on the
short list; or to adVIse the Gnevor what tramIng she should undertake, at her own expense, wruch
would qUalIfy her to meet the reqUIred skills of one of the pOSItIons on the short hst. In the event
that the Employer chooses the second OptIOn, the Gnevor shall be obligated to take the first
reasonably available course to obtam the recommended tralmng and shall mform the Employer of
what course she is takmg and the commencement and completion dates.
It IS the expectatIon of the Board that the Gnevor will be placed In one of the agreed upon
posItIons follOWIng successful completIon of the traInIng and that such traImng, prOVIded It IS
reasonably available, will be completed on or before September 2, 1997 AccordIngly, the
Gnevor's salary will contmue from March 31, 1997 until she IS placed In a posItIon or until
September 2, 1997, wruchever IS earher ThIS heanng shall be adjourned to September 2, 1997
ThIS Board shall remaIn seIzed of thIS matter In the event that the Gnevor IS placed m a pOSItIon
pnor to that date, the partIes shall notify the Gnevance Settlement Board that It IS not necessary
to proceed WIth the heanng. If at any time It becomes apparent that the Gnevor will not be
placed in a pOSItion by September 2, 1997, then the partIes shall notify the Gnevance Settlement
Board and request that a conference call be arranged WIth the Board members to determme
whether the return date of thIs matter should be adJourned or proceed.
