ORDER
The gnevances of Doug PIckett, filed agaInst the Mimstry of CorrectIOns, came
before the Board on October 24 2001 At that tIme vanous prelImInary matters were
addressed, IncludIng the relatIOnshIp of Mr PIckett's gnevances wIth those filed by Shelly
Holden and Debra McCormIck. At the tIme of filIng the gnevances, Ms McCormIck was
named Debra MattIngly All are CorrectIOns Officers who were Involved In an IncIdent at the
Toronto East DetentIOn Centre whIch occurred on March 23 1999 The partIes agree that all
of the gnevances anse dIrectly or IndIrectly from that IncIdent. That IS, It IS agreed that the
factual context of the IncIdent Itself IS central to all of the gnevances except a gnevance filed
by Shelly Holden relatIng to her degree of partIcIpatIOn In the resultIng InVestIgatIOn.
The employer has advIsed the Board by letter that It now seeks consolIdatIOn of these
matters so that the common Issues mIght be heard together The umon has IndIcated that It
does not object to such consolIdatIOn. AccordIngly It IS hereby ordered that the gnevances
ofMr PIckett, Ms Holden and Ms MattIngly be and the same are hereby consolIdated. The
matters so consolIdated are

commenCIng November 8 2001 The Holden matters anSIng from the degree of her

partIcIpatIOn In the enSUIng InVestIgatIOn wIll be heard subsequently The Umon has
undertaken to advIse the gnevors of these arrangements
