DIRECTION
1 ) This matter Involves SIX grievances, alleging that the grlevors were Improperly suspended
Without pay In February 2001
2) The Union now brings an application seeking relief In the nature of Interim compensation
pending the hearing of the grievances on their merits The Interim application commenced
on September 5,2001 The hearing was not completed that day The Board was advised
that three more hours would be required to complete the Interim proceedings The parties
are prepared to continue that hearing on September 18, 2001
3) The hearing on the merits IS scheduled for December 3,2001
4) The Interim application will continue on September 18, 2001
5) It IS well accepted that labour relations delayed are labour relations defeated and denied
Accordingly, upon the completion of the Interim application on September 18, 2001, the
Board will Immediately commence the hearing Into the merits
6) The parties are directed to come prepared to begin the hearing on the merits and to set
such further and other continuation dates as are required to bring these proceedings to a
speedy conclusion
