INTERIM DECISION
[1] At the request of Employer Counsel, the Board issued a Summons dated June
24, 2019 ordering Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders or his designate to attend
at a June 28, 2019 hearing in these matters, and to produce the records and
materials described therein.
[2] The June 28, 2019 hearing was convened by teleconference. Employer Counsel
participated in the teleconference while in attendance at the Board’s offices, and
advised during the teleconference that a representative of Toronto Police Service
attended at the Board in response to the Summons, and presented to the Board
the documents and materials described in the Summons.
[3] After hearing and considering the submissions of Counsel, I order the Board to
provide forthwith to Employer and Union Counsel copies of the documents and
materials delivered to the Board by Toronto Police Service on June 28, 2019 in
response to the Board’s June 24, 2019 Summons issued in these matters.
[4] The Union reserves all rights with respect to positions it may take during the
reconvened proceedings regarding the documents and materials presented to
the Board by Toronto Police Service.
[5] The hearing will continue as scheduled, and my jurisdiction in these matters is
retained.
Dated at Toronto, Ontario this 3rd day of July, 2019.
