Award
This workload case proceeded to a WRA meeting where without prejudice or precedent
discussions took place. Having heard the evidence, and without precedent or prejudice to any
other matter between the parties, I conclude that there was a technical breach of the
notification requirements for a change in the SWF, and this breach was occasioned by
notification delays. Following discussions, it was agreed that all matters were resolved on the
following basis: Professor Opatowski is be issued a new SWF for the Fall 2019 term indicating
no more than eight teaching contact hours (SEC 625). This is based on the Local purchasing an
additional reduction of two teaching contact hours. For the remainder of the academic year,
the Local will continue to purchase four teaching contact hours for Professor Opatowski. At the
request of the parties, I remain seized with respect to the implementation of this award.
