Mr. Dwight Sleigh,was employed as a Correctional Officer by
the Ministry of Correctional Services from May 1973 until he was
dismissed on April 27th, 1978. Mr. Sleigh submitted a grievance
alleging that he was unjustly dismissed on April 28th, 1978 which
was processed to the arbitration stage. The parties voluntarily
agreed to meet on January 7th, 1980 to review their respective
positions on this matter whereupon they agreed to dispense with an
arbitration hearing on the understanding that the grievance would be
resolved according to the following terms, which become the decision
of this Board.

Mr. Sleigh will submit a letter of resignation effective
April 28th, 1978, and the dismissal will be removed from
his record.
The Ministry will pay Mr. Sleigh a lump sum of $5,000 in
settlement for this and any other outstanding grievances
which he had as of April 28th, 1978.
Mr. Sleigh will waive any further complaint brocedures that
might arise on account of his employment with the Ministry
up to April 28th, 1978.
It is understood that this settlement has been made in order
to forego the possibility of any further litigation and
hence there will be no deductions made from it for any
purpose.
Th,erefore, the Board declares that the grievance shall be
resolved in accordance with the foregoing terms.
The Board will retain jurisdiction to deal with any disputes
arising out of the implementation of this award.
W. P. STAFFORD

Mr. William Stafford was employed as a Correctional Officer
by the Ministry of Correctional Services from 1970 until he was
dismissed on April 27th, 1978. Mr. Stafford submitted a grievance
alleging that he was unjustly dismissed on April 28th, 1978 which
was processed to the arbitration stage. The parties voluntarily _
