This is a classification grievance involving approximately 300 individuals at the
Ministry of Revenue who work as Assessment Clerks.
1. The parties have agreed that the Board shall hear one representative grievance
and that all the other grievances shall be bound by the outcome of that single grievance.
The Union will forthwith provide Management with a complete list of grievors and
Grievance Settlement Board numbers which it proposes to be bound by the single
grievance. Management will immediately thereafter advise the Union if it agrees with
the list of grievances.
2. The Union proposes that the representative grievance be that of Jennifer Reid 1..
in the London office; Grievancq-Settlement Board number 830/86.
3. Management will advise the Union and the Grievance Settlement Board by
April 28, 1989 if they agree that Ms. Jennifer Reid is an acceptable representative
grievor.
4. If there is no agreement between the parties as to the appropriate 4 li.. _.
representative grievor by April 28,1989, the parties will reconvene before the Grievance
Settlement Board on May 2, 1989 to try to resolve the issue of selecting a representative
grievor.
5. The parties should be prepared to argue whether or not the Board has the
power to impose a “lottery” system of selecting a representative grievor if the parties
are unable to agree. If the parties agree on a representative grievor prior to April 28,
1989, then the May 2, 1989 date will be cancelled and further dates will be scheduled
after May 19, 1989 to hear the merits of the action.
6. Management will deliver to the Union by May 5, 1989 the OAG Classification
Worksheet that they are relying upon in this case.

I. The Union will respond by May 19, 1989 to Management as to whether or not
they agree or disagree with the various levels proposed in the OAG Classification
Worksheet and if they disagree, to indicate what level they are replying upon. However,
no reasons or criteria for these differences need be set out in the documentation.
8. It is agreed that the Board, as presently constituted, is seized of all the
grievances listed under this name.
