Gorelle Counsel Mathews, Dinsdale & Clark Barristers & Solicitors Hearing: September 27, 1989 INTERIM DECISION Upon convening this hearing on November 20, 1989, the Panel was aware that there were four named grievors who are data processing technicians. However, we were informed that there are twelve more grievors which the parties want to consolidate into this hearing. In addition, counsel for the Union informed us that it is his understanding there are several more grievances but they may not yet be in the Board's filing system. It was his request that the hearing adjourn in order to allow these other grievances to be brought forward, counsel for the Employer was in agreement with this request and the parties acknowledged that the Board remained siezed of the fifteen grievances wh6se names were given to the Panel as well as these few extra grievances that we have yet to hear about. Counsel further informed us that they now intend to provide the position papers respecting all the grievances to the Ministry and then have the Ministry reply following which the Panel will reconvene. It was agreed therefore that counsel for the Union would have the Union's written position paper to the Employer no later than six weeks from November 20 whereupon counsel for the Employer undertook to have the Ministry's response to the Union within four weeks following receipt of the Union's position paper. The Panel members and counsel for both parties then agreed on dates when this matter is to be heard in 1990 and the Board is to 2 make the necessary arrangements and inform all interested parties of the time and place of the hearing. The foregoing constitutes an order of the Board, Dated at Kingston this 3rd day of January, 1990 C. Gordon Simmons Vice-Chairperson F. Taylor' Member G. Milley/' Member
