Introduction
On April 1 2,. 1991, this panel of the Board issued its award upholding two
health and safety grievances brought by Mr. R. Watts and Mr. K. King. The
Board remained seized with respect to the matter of remedy. That issue
was addressed, at the request of the parties, at a hearing held on December
2, 1991. On January 21, 1992, the Board issued a remedial order.
On May 12, 1994, at the request of one of the parties, the Board again
reconvened in order to deal with the. matter of remedy. Following
representations and consultations, the following Consent Order was- issued:
1. There will be one patrol of the dormitories on the
night shift before 12:00 midnight.
2. There will be one patrol Ç>f the dormitories, the
timing of which shall be at the discretion of the
Correctional Officers on duty, between 1 :00 a.m. and 2:00
a.m.
3. There will be one patrol of the dormitories, the
timing of which shall be at the discretion of the
Correctional Officers on duty, between 4:00 a.m. an9 6:00
3.m.
4. This Consent Order shall be effective immediately.
