HEARING May 1, 1992
DECISION
The union filed a grievance dated March 22, 1991, alleging a
violation of section 18 of the collective a~reement. At the
hearing, the parties determined that they wished to settle the
grievance without prejudice or precedent to any future cases
between them. Accordingly, on consent of the parties, this Board
issues the following~order:
1. The Ministry of Education, Mowat Block, as employer, will send
a memorandum to its employees in the Mowat Block informing
them of the telephone number of the Accommodation Services
Section of the Ministry of Education which they are to contact
with complaints concerning the elevators in the Mowat Block.
2. The employer will provide a copy of the study, prepared by
Keith Jenkins and Associates, regarding the Mowat Block
elevators, when the union makes a written request for this
report to the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Ministry of
Education, Mowat Block.
3. The Ministry of Education Accommodation Services Section will
undertake, upon written request for information from the
Ministry of Education Joint Health and Safety Committee, Mowat
Block, to request such information from the Ministry of
Government Services Property Management, and the Ministry of
Government Services Property Management will provide such

information as may be available to the Accommodation Services
Section, who will forward it to the Committee.
