"i_ '" '" 2 Introduction J ( This matter was scheduled to proceed to a hearing on November 17 & 18, " 1994 In advance of these sc;:hedul~d hearing dates, the Board was advised ) that it would not- be possible to begin the calling of evidence on either of these dates as a result of delays in the exchange of particulars The Board was, however, advised that it would be possible to deal with some preliminary matters, and that it was not expected that the consideration of these matters would take more than an hour or two After considering this \ . information the Board decided, given the cost of travelling to Thunder Bay, to adjourn these scheduled hearings as the next scheduled hearing days were only several weeks away and it made little sense, in a time of economic restraint, for the Board to travel to Thunder Bay to deal with matters that could be readily dealt with on the next scheduled date I A number of other factors were also taken into account. The Board formed the view that some of the outstanding preliminary matters in dispute could not be dealt with until the particulars had been exchanged.. Furthermore, cancelling these hearing dates would not only save money but would also make the panel available for previously scheduled GSB cases The parties \ were advised of these deliberations and our decision and, at their request, thi~ written order is issued ( . .. /'~. ~ .-, ~, 3 DATED at Toronto this 25th day of November, 1994 1/'./ v---.---- ---------------- William Kaplan Vice-Chairperson --1 - - , t'1{V;~ \ ----------------- P Klym Member __~~i1_.
