ORDER
In Re Mangar and Ministry of the Environment and Energy (December 18,1996), G S.B
No 1828/96 (Roberts), the Mimstry was dIrected to pay the grievor "compensatIOn m the form
of wages, mcludmg 2% m lieu of benefits, at the OAG 2 level for the penod Apnl1, 1996 to July
17,1996 less reqUired statutory deductIOns, wIthout undue delay" As of the tlme of heanng m
thIS matter, March 17, 1997, the Mimstry stIll had not Implemented thIS award. The only reason
for the delay appeared to be that the Mimstry wIshed to rehtlgate ItS hablhty to make thIS
payment upon the submIssion of addItIOnal eVIdence that was avaIlable but not presented m the
earher hearmg When thIS became clear, counsel for the Mimstry was stopped and mformed that
the earher award was final and the matter could not be rehtlgated.
The Mimstry was ordered to pay the gnevor the compensatIOn m questIOn wlthm 30
calendar days of the hearing, mcludmg mterest at a yearly rate of 5% sImple mterest from
February 1, 1997 onward.
