DECISION
A mediation In this matter was held on September 22, 2003 At this time, the parties
were able to reach a full and final resolution to the Issues In dispute Accordingly, based on
the agreement of the parties, I hereby declare and direct that.
1 Assuming that the Individual who finished fourth In the competition for
Communications Officer 2 (competition # HL-37-289 MMS/0203) IS stili employed, she will be
offered the next classified Communications Officer 2 position that becomes available In the
event that this Individual IS no longer Interested In the position for whatever reason and turns
down the offer, the position will be offered to the grlevor If the Individual who finished fourth
accepts the offer, then the grlevor will be offered the next classified Communications Officer
2 position that becomes available
2 The grlevor will be given a full-time contract as a Communications Officer 2 as of
October 27, 2003 This contract will continue until the grlevor gets a classified
Communications Officer 2 position The employer cannot guarantee that the grlevor will not
be required to work weekend shifts
3 The grievance IS withdrawn
In the event that the parties have any difficulty Implementing this decIsion, I shall
remain seized
