INTERIM DECISION
[1] The subject grievances relate to scenarios at the Central Ambulance
Communication Centre (CACC) in Oshawa.
[2] The Grievors’ duties as Ambulance Communication Officers (ACO-1) are largely
comprised of the processing of requests for Emergency Medical Services
(EMS/Paramedics) and the dispatch of EMS resources.
[3] There has yet to be a proper crystallization of issues in this matter. In the
circumstances I hereby order and direct the Parties to address and resolve
insofar as possible all matters relating to:
1. The handling of interim Grievances of a similar nature.
2. Clarification of Particulars sought and provided.
3. Additional productions sought if any.
4. Identification and crystallization of issues.
[4] Such exchanges as are necessary shall take place and be concluded at or
before January 19, 2018.
[5] Thereafter, arrangements will be made through the GSB Registrar to schedule a
teleconference between Arbitrator and Counsel to address the status of the
matter and the process going forward.
