Decision
The Employer is hereby ordered to produce the following documents to the Union by the end of
May, 2009:
[1]The complete relevant competition file, including applications and resumes, interview
questions and responses for the top fifteen (15) candidates, including the Microsoft Excel
component and the written assignment.
[2]All internal correspondence between managers dealing with the discussion of the
grievor?s job performance and interview performance, including but not limited to
emails, memos, phone conversation notes.
[3]The notification supplied to the Local President that the Employer intended to convert
some temporary position to permanent ones in the August 2008 competition pursuant to
Article 6.1.
The Employer is hereby ordered to supply particulars with respect to the following, by
the end of May 2009:
1.Why the grievor?s contract was not renewed in October 2008.
2.Why, in light of that non-renewal, she was offered a contract filling a position
temporarily vacated due to a maternity leave.
3.Why the Employer failed to provide to the grievor the Certificate of Appointment,
which was awarded to all other successful trainees upon passing a training-related
examination in June 2008.
