Fleishman Counse 1 Crown Law Office, Civil Ministry of the Attorney General 2 DECISION At the outset of the hearing the parties jointly requested that all of the files scheduled before us except File No. 462/81 be adjourned. The Board consents and accordingly File Nos : 271/82, 389/82, 381/82 and 386/82 are hereby adjourned sine die. The Board recessed the hearing into file No. 462/81 to permit discussion between the parties. When the Board reconvened, we were advised that the parties had reached agreement that the grievance will be withdrawn by the grievor on condition that the Board directs that the Employer issue a letter in the form agreed to by the parties. The fo;lowing letter was filed with the Board. September 16, 1988 MS. S.T. Cheng c/o Breithaupt, Zimmer Barristers and Solicitors 330 University Avenue‘ Suite 707 Toronto, Ontario M5G lR7 Dear Ms. Cheng: Re: Incident of May 21st, 1981 The above-noted incident resulted from my attempt to supervise your work in the Surveys 3 and Mapping Branch. Unfortunately, voices were raised 'during the course of our discussion and as a gesture to emphasize that your work should be performed in the prescribed manner, I struck your desk. I sincerely regret that you perceived my conduct as harassing. As your supervisor, my intention was merely to ensure that your work was performed correctly. While I still have the responsibility as supervisor of the Branch to ensure that work is carried out satisfactorily, YOU have my assurance that we shall make every attempt to avoid this type of incident in the future.
